Angels and Muse is delighted to announce Seidougha Eyimiegha’s (Mr Danfo) imminent exhibition “The Gods of Safety.”
The exhibition seeks to challenge the orthodoxy around signage, drawing a throughline between these signs that aid navigation and safety, and deities who perform similar functions of providing direction and protection. This series also challenges the viewer to consider the possibilities that could arise if signage were localized through vernacular and informal iconography.
