You’re invited to join us this Saturday at Angels and Muse for ‘Between Scars & Totems,’ a presentation of clay works by Naomi Nwobi.
‘Between Scars & Totems,’ explores Nwobi’s relationship with clay, particularly its relationship with pain. Just as the cracks in bone-dry greenware or freshly bisqued ceramics reveal what might have occurred during the fabrication process, scars—physical and metaphorical—are totems representing our lived experiences.
Bringing together clay works, a collection of accompanying writings, and a short documentary, ‘Between Scars & Totems’ examines what it might feel like to embrace our deepest hurt.
The installation will be on view until Friday, August 28th.
