Ndi Igbo, kedu ka ụnụ di?

Saturday, March 28, 2026

We’re pleased to invite you to the public presentation of our resident, Belgian-Nigerian multidisciplinary artist Emmanuelle Gilles-Rousseau, titled “Ndi Igbo, kedu ka ụnụ di?”

To close out her successful research-based residency, Gilles-Rousseau will present “Bebe,” an episodic short film she wrote and co-directed. The presentation will also feature a conversation centered on the research conducted during her residency.

During her time at Angels and Muse, Gilles-Rousseau has conducted research towards an imminent feature film centered on the colonization of traditional Igbo spirituality by the Christian religion. This has found her interrogating historical works of Igbo provenance, and interfacing with scholars and artists versed in her research subject.

Join us on Saturday, 28th January, 2026, by 3 pm, for what promises to be a profound and stimulating inquiry sitting at the intersection of representation, race, class, and gender.

The event is free to attend, but spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Register now with the link.
